WARNING: You’re Missing Out on Tower of Fantasy Story!
We know that the quality of the Tower of Fantasy story is up for some debate. However, we like it. We don’t love what the developers have done with the story, though. You see, in a quest to get people into the latter stages of the game quicker, they’ve opted to automatically skip larger segments of the story for people. The worst part? They don’t even warn you they’re doing it! Suddenly, most things in the game won’t make a whole lot of sense. So, whether you’ve bought a Tower of Fantasy account for sale, or you’re starting from scratch, read on. We’ll help you find the missing story!
When the Missing Story Happens
For obvious reasons, we’re not going to go too heavy on the spoilers here. We’ll just give a brief overview of when the missing story happens, or when you can identify that it has happened.
After the tutorial, you’ll be sent to the Tower of Fantasy. After a few quick chats, you’ll be shown a flashback of memories (which you’ll have absolutely no recollection of). This is, essentially, the game showing you in a rather shoddy way what happened during the story you’re now missing. You’ll then be told you’re starting the Vera questline. This is where you now need to stop the story from progressing.
The game, unfortunately, doesn’t tell you how, which leads us neatly onto the next point.
Replaying the Missing Story in Tower of Fantasy
To play the missing story, you’ll need to open the in-game menu and:
- Select ‘Terminal’
- Select ‘Aesperia’
And that’s it! You can continue the original story from this point onward.
Do You Need to Play the Missing Story in Tower of Fantasy?
If you care about the story and the achievements in the game, then absolutely. You should play the missing story. It’ll also provide you with more options if you want to do the daily quests.
That being said, the game doesn’t require you to complete the missing part of the story. Everything that you would have unlocked playing that story, e.g. the daily quests, certain weapons, etc. can be earned from playing Vera onward. The only real benefit that you are getting from playing the missing story is just enjoying that beautiful game world and some exploration. However, you can always go back and complete it once you’ve progressed to end game. It’s not a major issue.
The only thing we want to point out here is that you’ll find that some characters completely change when you skip the story, which can be rather jarring.
