AMAZING AND BEST THINGS TO DO IN VIENNA
Vienna, Austria is a fantastic city with world-class museums, the Opera, cafes, pastries, and the world-famous Sacher Torte. Tim and I had a terrific time in Vienna despite the fact that we were only there for two days. We hurried around the city, seeing everything we could. Based on everything we saw and did, here are our top ten things to see and do in Vienna.
Schönbrunn Palace
It is a particularly famous attraction in Vienna. The Schönbrunn Palace (Schloss Schönbrunn) is a huge Baroque castle including grounds built in the 18th century. The 40-meter-long Great Gallery and the Hall of Ceremonies are highlights. You will be able to visit Schonbrunn Palace without having to wait in queue for a guided tour of its interior. The tour takes you around the 22 staterooms while teaching you about the past royals’ lives. You are able to wander around the botanical gardens at your own pace after the tour.

Schönbrunn Palace Gardens
The justifications of Schönbrunn Palace are one of the top free things to do in Vienna. Schönbrunn Garden and Lakes is a public one-square-kilometre landscaped environment. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was established in 1779, and you may see the Privy Garden, Orangery Garden, Maze, and Zoo. You are not required to go outside the palace to appreciate it if you’re looking for free things to do in Vienna. If you wish to walk through the botanical garden maze, you must pay a supplementary charge.
Gloriette Cafe
When I show visitors about, we usually end the tour by walking up to the hilltop Gloriette Café for breakfast. It is a renowned coffee establishment in Austria, serving royal brunch and pastries. The spacious interior has seating as well as an outdoor deck. You may order Sacher Torte from here. Sache torte is a well-known chocolate cake with layers divided with apricot jam. Or we go to Landtmann’s Jausenstation, a beautiful refuge. It opens at 10 a.m. on weekdays and 9.00 a.m. on weekends.
Vienna Zoo
It is possible to visit the Vienna Zoo, that is situated on the property of Schonbrunn Palace. It is the globe’s oldest functioning zoo, specialising on endangered animal protection. The enormous pandas are the zoo’s most popular attraction. The Vienna Zoo was in 1752 by Emperor Franz Stephan I to house his exotic animal collection. Several of the old Vienna Zoo structures still intact.
The Spanish Riding School
The Spanish Riding School is a popular tourist destination in Vienna. The famous Lippizaner horses are practising dressage here. Under the rule of the Habsburg monarchy in the late 16th century, the Spanish Equestrian School was established to provide entertainment for the Royal Family. They didn’t open to the public until 1918. If you’re lucky enough, you might catch a Gala performance, but even if you don’t, it’s worth it to watch morning training sessions or go on one of the guided tours that include the stables to get a behind-the-scenes look at these wonderful horses.

Hofburg Palace
The historic Hapsburg palace, Hofburg Palace, which is serves as the constitutional residence and office of Austria’s President. It also contains the Spanish Riding School and several of Vienna’s leading museums and galleries. Walking around the royal grounds gives you a feeling of the enormity and beauty of the complex. Make sure to see the amazing semi-circular Neue Burg and see the imperial apartments. This stunning example of classical design will leave you speechless.
